Left: In San Pedro, California, Mojo shines a spotlight on pedestrians walking down the sidewalk. The pole-mounted robot is guided by two video cameras perched on a nearby rooftop. Its German-born creator Christian Moeller says he simply wants to energize street life in the southern California port town. "Think about the follow spot for a circus clown or a Broadway musical," Moeller says. "The way Mojo looks takes it out of this context of evil-looking tools of repression."
